1982 320iSindagon 07-29-2004, 03:57 AM i just got some bad news from my mechanic, $600 to replace a leaky head gasket. this is a serious leak, im putting a quart of oil in the car every month about, but i dont have the money for the job. i wanted to know what was involved in doing it myself and how much it would cost. I have access toa full machine shop at school. Also, is the $600 a good price? this is a 1982 320i like in the topic. ITS NOT AN EASY JOB . SAVE UP AND HAVE IT FIXED . IF YOU DO IT YOUR SELF AND DONT DO IT RIGHT U COULD END UP WITH MORE PROBLEMS THAN YOU BEGAN WITH. OR YOU CAN GET A CHILTONS OR BENTLY REPAIR MANUAL , IF YOU REALLY WANT TO TAKE ON THE TASK YOUR SELF . THESE BOOKS HAVE ALL THE INFO. U NEED.
