My street race storyZenom F1 07-28-2004, 11:38 PM this is my story so far. Credit VQuick for inspiration. This is happening in South Florida but i plan on including races up north also. The warm summer night wrapped Corey in its consuming warmth, but the cold feeling of anxiousness still made him shiver. His heart was pounding so hard it threatened to burst out of his chest. He waited nervously outside of a large, rusty garage door, with the only noise coming from a slight hum of traffic on the nearby turnpike. He felt as if he was in the middle of nowhere with the tarmac road resembling a gravel trail. The tall pines gave the illusion of a North Western forest, but he was far away from the Pacific. West Palm Beach, Florida was were he roamed the night streets like a nocturnal predator. He looked at the deserted Southern Boulevard when he heard it. A high-pitched scream of power wailed through the empty night. Corey smiled in relief as his nerve-racking wait was over. As the car turned onto the forgotten road it’s bright bluish xeon lights illuminated the scattered dirt and rocks that littered the street. As the car got closer, the figure became more apparent. An all too familiar white Acura RSX pulled up beside him. “What took you so darn long,” shouted Corey “Chill out man, I had to burn a clown in a Sephia,” replied Lisa in her Spanish accent. “Shouldn’t racing get you here faster?” “Well, I was on the turnpike when I saw it. I sped up to reach the guy. We started speeding up and slowing down again. Before I knew it was in Boyton” Boyton Beach is a super-residential area about a half-hour drive away from West Palm. How Lisa could end up down there by racing a Kia appalled Corey. “Okay, so is it ready.” “If you can call that non-turbo mini-motor ready, then it is,” replied Maria “Hey, in a couple of moths this mini-motor will be quick enough to leave your turbo DC5 standing still off the line. And by the time your little turbo spools, I’ll be finished.” “Whatever racer boy. That little engine couldn’t, can’t, and will never beat my Turbo R.” “ Plus, what do you mean by mini-motor, both of our cars are 4-packs.” “But yours looks so timid compared to my lord of the 4’s Honda block.” “Sshhhh!! You don’t want those muscle heads to hear you call your straight 4 a ‘block’, Corey said in mock fright. Maria looked down the street and saw a bunch of new-gen pony cars. Mustangs and Camaros littered the lot. She couldn’t make out a single SS or Cobra. She did however make out an especially gaudy looking 96-98ish Mustang. It was a white convertible with white out headlamps and the now popular Altezza style taillights. She had found her prey. “Hey you see that riced-out Mustang over there,” she said “ A little more specific please. There is enough rice over there to feed China,” answered Corey. “The white drop-top with the Altezza’s”. “Oh, what about it”. “I want to take it on”. “Why that one in particular”. “That’s Max. He used to race a nicely modded Cavalier, but he got dusted pretty bad by Ty’s Civic so he ‘upgraded’ to Mustang GT. He’s been raggin pretty hard on anything less than a Turbo 6 since then.” Said Lisa. “ But why hasn’t Ty shut him up. Doesn’t his Civic run 12’s,” asked Corey. “Yeah, it’s supercharged and has a whole bunch of goods but Ty went up north after Kevin beat him. Kevin went to Miami not long after. Now Max thinks he’s the fastest. But I want a piece of him. I’ll show him that imports are never to be underestimated.” Said Lisa. She was serious now. “When you gonna race, I mean burn him. No way that bulk of rice can keep up with you. How bout we do a tag. My ride should be quick enough to take one of his partners.” Said Corey. For the past couple of months domestics have been assuming leadership of the streets and the strip, but he was tired of that. If Max really wanted to be fastest he would have to be faster than Lisa’s RSX in the corners too. There was no way he could do that. Plus, Corey could make a name for him self also. Lisa was about to start something and he had her back. “You should take on one of his cronies first, just for a wake up shot. A shot that will start a revolution,” said Lisa. Corey could tell she wanted no less than a war between machines to show true import dominance. “Should we go now?’ “Yeah, lets get it started.” Lisa pressed a button and the garage door started to open. Corey’s face lit up as his car came into focus. I haven't thought of Corey's car yet. I want it to be perferably a weak-mild RWD but i'm open for anything. Also, what does an turbo dc5 integra make on avereage. And what do you think of the story so far? Pistolpete 07-28-2004, 11:58 PM interesting idea how about a stock s13/180sx Zenom F1 07-29-2004, 12:09 AM sweet, i hadn't thought of the 180's. I'll do that. It fits perfectly eith the story nissanfanatic 07-29-2004, 12:20 AM Make it an S13 with a KA-T. -Cory- CassiesMan 07-29-2004, 02:35 AM Boyton Beach...I hear about that place all to much where I work. You oughta go down there and tell all those old retired types to read contracts...other wise, nice story. CassiesMan 07-29-2004, 02:39 AM Oh, what about a Passat or Golf 1.8T. Pretty quick, but not to hardcore. Or a E36 318i/ti. But those are jut my opinions. silentshot 07-29-2004, 01:00 PM oh yeah, i agree, a 240, or the 1,9t(not sure if the same thing...it says it only produces 100hp on the VW site...is that right for a tdi?) i like it so far, good story man. emokid15 07-29-2004, 02:34 PM Nice Story losingxposer 07-29-2004, 05:09 PM Sounds like something from 2Fast2Furious....:screwy: But good story either way. Zenom F1 07-29-2004, 06:41 PM here's a continued part of the story, i decided to use a 180sx with a swapped CA18DET with upgraded turbo, intake, and exhaust. It leads up until the first race. Enjoy! :grinyes: Corey’s red Nissan 180sx shined in the artificial light. Corey opened the car door and stepped inside. The keys were already in the ignition. The car came to life with bark then a low purr. The Japanese version of the 180sx, the Silvia, is powered by the CA18DET engine that produces close to 180-horse power at the flywheel, but 160 at the wheels with a factory turbo, but Corey had more than that. He had upgraded the turbo, cold air intake, and exhaust system. His guess was that he was making around 220 horsepower at the wheels now. Still, nowhere close to the 350 ponies Lisa was pumping out of her DC5, which was also an imported engine. “You ready” shouted Lisa “Oh Yeah.” Replied Corey Lisa reversed onto the gravel road letting Corey come out in front her. As they made their way to the domestics gathering, Corey had an idea. He spotted a thick patch of gravel. He turned on his hazard lights indicating to Lisa he was going to slow down. She answered with a flash of her xenon lamps that nearly made him blind. He steered sharply right towards the gravel then yanked on the e-brake while sharply turning left. He got his desired effect as his rear tires slid into the gravel then scattered it towards the domestics. He was revving his when his cell rang. “Hello.” “Your insane!” “Thanks. Hey look one of them is coming.” Corey stepped out of his car and leaned on the door with his arms crossed. A PT Cruiser and a Neon that he hadn’t seen was approaching him. As they made its way through the sheet of dirt he saw both weren’t gaudy like the other cars in its coalition. The PT cruiser pulled up beside and its passenger side window rolled down. “I hope you were looking race,” said the driver. “Ready when you are,” replied Corey. “Where we gonna run?” “Cannon Way.” “Fine with me.” Corey had picked Cannon Way because he could adapt to it faster and his FR car could take the 90-degree turns that were all over the track better than the FF cruiser and his upgraded turbo would pull on it on the straights. His cell phone rang again. “Lisa, where gonna run at Cannon Way.” “Okay.” Corey saw ahead as the RSX turned around and made its way onto Southern Boulevard. Corey was next in line with the PT and Neon rounding up the rear. Lisa gunned it after all four cars had made the turn on the main road and Corey followed suit. He thought they would have left both Mopars behind but the Cruiser was right behind him. He tried to look where the Neon was but didn’t see it. He then realized that the Neon was passing him with ease. As the Neon shifted he heard it, the whistle of a turbo. He then made the realization that it must be a SRT-4 and that as of now he was in no league with a car like that. And as it gained in on Lisa’s RSX he saw that it must be modded also. He also realized that his car was much faster than it used to be. It was going to be harder to adapt after all. They reached Haverhill Road and took a left. As the light turned green they all gunned it. The Neon had to swerve to the out side to prevent from rear-ending the RSX, confirming it was the RWD turbo SRT-4. He wandered if Lisa could recover ground on the turbo Dodge but she couldn’t. Everyone started to slow for the left turn that led to Cannon Way when Corey made another realization. The Cruiser behind him could be the PT Turbo model that produced 220 horse-power at the crank, and by the sound of it, it was also modified. RACER D12 07-29-2004, 06:47 PM I like it, but im so sick of import vs domestic. What about the euros. For coreys car i suggest a 1989 BMW 325i, also known as the E30. They are RWD have a straight six and make around 168hp and 164tq. They have a cast iron block so the could handle major boost. theirs a guy on bimmer forums with a M3 E30 making 600+hp with out n2o. With n2o hes got over 700hp. I think that would fit your character well because it is a very able car but not one that a lot of people know about. RACER D12 07-29-2004, 06:54 PM Maybe im wrong but theirs no awd srt-4. And the turbo PTC is still a joke of a car. Zenom F1 07-29-2004, 07:04 PM I had planned a E36 M3 for the Kevin characters car and Lisa's bf has a 99 M5. Soon two of Corey's friends will emerge and one drives a SLK and the other a R32 Golf. An opponent emerges with a S40 Evolve. I just wanted a RWD import for his car, and the way i'm leaning now he will make the 180 his daily driver and get an all out racer. youngvr4 07-29-2004, 07:09 PM the story is too long, anyone mind giving me the short of it all Zenom F1 07-29-2004, 07:10 PM doesn't it have the AWD turbo mistubishi motor? RACER D12 07-29-2004, 07:14 PM The motor is turbo but it was made in europe if im not mistaken and its not AWd. Zenom F1 07-29-2004, 07:14 PM A guy is getting his car fixed up His friend who is tuning shows up late they joke around about their motors the girl decides she wants to knock off a mustang and get back import respect guy has her back they call out the domestics a SRT-4 and a Pt Turbo answer. girl has Turbo DC5 integra guy has CA18DDET 180sx Zenom F1 07-29-2004, 07:15 PM my fault. i'll go change it. Zenom F1 09-11-2004, 08:48 PM i added some more. I'm unsure about some of the numbers. please correct them if there wrong. Corey’s red Nissan 180sx shined in the artificial light. The Cruiser behind him could be the PT Turbo model that produced 220 horsepower at the crank, and by the sound of it, it was also modified. It was still front wheel drive, which meant Corey had an advantage in the turns. Both cars were also even on the straights, which meant the total advantage was his. But it wasn’t the cruiser Corey was worried about; it was the SRT-4. He quickly called Lisa. “Hello?” “Yo Lisa, you know that Neon is a SRT-4 right.” “I know,” she replied nonchalantly. Corey was shocked with her calmness. “But he has the RWD advantage, and you couldn’t gain on him a second ago,” said Corey quizzically. “Something is wrong with my car, the turbo never spooled. I was running him all motor,” she answered. “That sucks. The PT Cruiser is no problem. I’m probably making as much or more horses than he is, plus I’m RWD and that cruiser is driving up side down bathtub. But that SRT-4 is a whole different animal.” “Listen Corey, you have about 220 horsepower. Plus you’re one of the better drivers I’ve ever seen. Maybe you can pull it off. I’ll run the cruiser.” Corey could tell Lisa didn’t want to walk away. “Alright I’ll do it.” “Good.” The quartet pulled onto the dark road. Corey couldn’t believe that he was going to race a SRT-4. He hoped the driver was bad one because he doubted he could hang with it. He stepped out of the car when he heard loud roars coming down the road. It was a white convertible Mustang and other ponies. An average height Caucasian with brown hair that faded to dirty blonde stepped out of the car; Max. “Hey what’s going here,” he shouted “Where gonna race, isn’t that kind of obvious,” said Corey. “Here?” He said dumbfounded. “Yeah, maybe you’ve ever heard of taking a high speed corner before.” This remark got Corey some nasty looks from the domestic clan, but Lisa chuckled in the background. He also noticed the SRT-4 driver smirked with the comment. “I can take a turn as good as any of you guys, and I’ll prove it. Me, smart mouth, and the guy in the Neon are doing a three way,” announced Max. Corey was stunned for a second, wasn’t the two Mopars in league with Max. It didn’t seem like it now. “How bout we make it even more interesting,” started Lisa,” Me, one of you domestics, and the dude in the PT do the first leg of the race and make it a 6-way tag” This proposition got some “woos”. Corey like the idea of that of a tag, Lisa could probably get him a head start on the GT and the SRT-4. “We can do that,” said Max. He turned around looking for someone in his clan to be his partner. “Yo, Torrie. Is your car ready!” he shouted. “Yeah, it’s fine,” said a short, curvy, olive skinned redhead emerging from the pack. ”You’re looking mighty fine yourself,” said Max, obviously interested. ‘Too bad, can’t say the same for you,” was her reply. This comment also got some “woos”. Corey himself felt interested in this fiery redhead, he could tell she new how to play some pretty tuff hard to get, but he felt up for a challenge. Torrie looked over in his direction, and gave him a “look”. Corey nodded his head while flashing a confident smirk; she returned the same before turning around heading back through the pack. “I saw that, checking out that girl. Bad Corey,” said Lisa “Hey were not together, you have a boyfriend. I’m a free agent in the National Dating League,” replied Corey.
