99' Windstar turd keeps stalling if you don't hold the gas.Redcivic 07-28-2004, 12:44 PM I swear if I have to work on this POS again. Sorry had to vent. Okay, so my aunt owns the van and it will stall if you don't hold the gas steady. There are no CELS. She recently replaced the intake manifold gasket due to a CEL she was getting, this was at the dealer and they charged her a bunch so now she does not trust the dealer. I have replaced the fuel filter and done all the basic maintanance on this vehicle. This van gets it's oil changed and it's tranny fluid changed and flushed like clockwork and it frustrates me to see such a greatly maintained vehicle have so many probs. Any ideas? Mikebox 07-28-2004, 03:07 PM Sounds like an idle air bypass valve or IAC or whatever Ford calls it on the windstar. They tend to get gummed up and stick. I think a replacment valve is $30-50 and easy to do yourself. Som folks have cleaned them with some sucess but I would replace in fact I did on our 2000. ModMech 07-28-2004, 03:18 PM Yup, classic "IAC" symptoms. busboy4 07-28-2004, 04:39 PM vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
