Question about Ferrari 512 S Le Mans/Daytona

Can some Le Mans Daytona or Ferrari fan help me out? :1zhelp:
I got this Ferrari 512 S kit thinking that it was a Le Mans model or at least could be easily converted to LM with new decals.

The kit came with #28 decals which is the car driven by Mario Andretti 24h Daytona 1970 if I am not mistaken.
Eventhough the manual says Daytona Type, the manual also shows how to assemble to make it "Manufacture Type", "Le Mans Type" and "Daytona Type" (Fig. below).

After some research I am not sure anymore, because some pictures of 512S LM I have seen have this type of rear end.

Now finally to my questions.
1) Can I convert this model to LM type with new decals only? Is it available on the market? I am not good enough to make a new rear end.
2) If not, are there other replacement decals on the market? It does not matter if it LM or Daytona. The included decals are unusable due to age.

Thanks for taking the time to read all this. :)

My guess is that many variants of this car ran at LeMans over a few year's period in the early '70's, so the best bet is to find reference pics of a peticular car and build to that.

sjelic. Thanks a lot for the links. They are very helpful.

p9o1r1sche. You are right. I think I should choose a particular car and build it.

With all the info at hand, I think the #6 car that participated in 1970 but never finished the race due to engine and bearings problems is the best bet.
11 Ferrari 512 entered the 1970 race and only 2 finished it.

The best way to replicate a Coda Lunga car like the #11 is to use a Fisher Model & Pattern curbside resin kit. Which is too bad, because the Coda Lunga was the prettiest of all 512's.

The amount of modification that would need to be done to the rear deck of that 512S would make it very difficult indeed.

I don't know much about Ferraris but an awful lot of 512 Ss ran at Le Mans in 1970, so maybe one or more had a rear similar to your kit? This link lists them all:
