98' contour seems to be losing power and will only accelerate to 30mph at the most. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

is this an a/t? it could be a bad speed sensor on the trans. does the speedometer fluctuate?
it's next to the dipstick tube where it goes in the trans.
