I'm driving to my old school today in order to work out, when I get this feeling to take the long way around. So I exit onto the highway that'll take me the long way, and all of the sudden, I see a dark green Jetta 1.8t comming up behind me kinda fast. I downshift into third, and let him pull up next to me. I look over, and jump on him a bit, then slow back down to let him know I'm up he wants to go.

He nods, and I jump over a lane to keep from hitting a truck in the middle lane of the highway. I look over again, and we both gun it. We start at 60, and I'm in high third, just outside of my best reach.

Hes pullin a bit, and by the time I hit fourth, his door is at my nose (I slid back over so now were right next to each other, no middle lane), and were both holding. Im in fourth around 4000rpm when I start to pull. 5000rpm, 110, pulling a bit harder, nose to nose. I look over, and he looks at me. 6000rpm, 120, and Im pulling up, and around 6500rpm, I jump to 125, and hop about half a length on him. I'm up by a half length for about 10 seconds when he flashes his high beams, and starts to pull off. I slow down too, and give him the thumbs up. He gives me the peace sign salute back, big smiles all around.

We hang with each other cruising at about 80 till I hit my exit, wave again, and pull off. Big rush, I've never raced a 1.8t, and was kinda worried. One of the only things I fear when racing is FI. But it was a great race, and I was seriously pumped.

Cliff Notes:
Saw a 1.8t Jetta
Raced from 60
He pulled
Came from behind and won at a half length at 125.

Thanks. Yeah, they were. I mean, I know the little 1.8T Golfs are fast cuz they are so light, but I never expected a Jetta to be able to move that quick. And you always know that when you get that feeling to take the long way home, its a good thing.

Nice run, nice kill! Those VWs are pretty quick cuz they have such a great power to weight ratio. Well done!

kitted18b: Yeah, far to much.

silentshot: Go to your local BMW dealer and ask around a bit. I got the 325i because I got a hella lease plan on it, and it'll be worth quite a bit in 18 months when I trade it in for a down payment on an ///M3. Also, you can find out about your local (or nearest) BMW CCA, get in contact with a member, and see if you can have him or her help you get a used BMW. They have some damn good cars for fairly cheap (all things considered).

Everyone else: Thanks for the compliments, keep on racing...
