i want more sound in my single cab 1997 tacoma. Has anyone added speakers behind the seat? If anybody has done it, or has any ideas on mounting them and wireing, let me know. thanks.

they do make flat boxed 12 inch subs for single cab trucks. you can get them at walmart for $ 45 a piece, and they are pioneer. my cousin has a
96 tacoma and he has a set. they sound good too.

i have a 95 taco single cab without any rear speakers either. I installed a good deck and ran some wire to the back off of it. I used some left over pioneer 5x7s and put them on the floor-the only spot to put speakers back there. Not a big difference because they can't reach your ears due to space. Those front speakers are 6 1/2's. - pletty of speaker. better off getting a good after market speaker with a good deck to run it.

MTX makes a formed inclosure that fits behind the drivers side of a single cab.

Does anyone know if there is some way to stuff some 6x9s in truck boxes (or other enclosures) into that space behind the console in a reg cab? I'm tempted to just order some boxes and try, but I don't want to have to go through the return process if it isn't going to work...

I am not sure if the 6x9 boxes would fit, a few years ago I rode in a ford ranger and he had them behind the seat, they didnt sound too bad either, they were kicker's, as far as the mtx or jl audio stealth boxes go, trust me you have to move the seat up like 3-5 notches, it isnt worth it,
I put a box in the back of my 02 std cab w/ kicker 8" solobarics, they pound pretty good w/ about 350 watts, if want some pics, let me know and I can email them to you!!!!!!

I already have 2 10" Rockford Fosgate Punch Z's in my Std. Cab and am working on getting two molded 6x9 enclosures above the seats as well as my door panels redone to have a 6" sub a mid and two tweeters in each. Should be more than enough sound in a reg cab, don't you think?
