Car turns over but takes 5 seconds to start...justrelaxing 07-24-2004, 11:32 PM The Service Engine Soon light has been on for a week now. I have verified that the gas cover is on and have did 4-5 warm starts to check this. The car will turn over when cold or warm and will take about 5 seconds and then finally start. Once the car is running, it is fine. It does not kill on me as of yet and does not hesitate as I can pass people and no problems. I am wondering if it would be some fuel problem or injector problem. Any ideas let me know. illinoiswronski 08-12-2004, 04:53 PM The first solution would be to get the codes read as the ECM is trying to tell you something. This sounds like the start of my leaking Fuel Pressur Regulator. Over time it got worse and also cause rough running and erratic idle. Search through the archives on this site for the complete post. justrelaxing 08-12-2004, 08:17 PM Had the codes read and found to be a crankshaft sensor had gone out. So I am getting it fixed. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
