thinking about buying a 94 Summit ES coupe

I'm in the market for a small, fuel efficient car, and I looked at a 94 Eagle Summit ES coupe today. It's got 257000 kms on it (approx. 160000 miles). It's a 5 speed, with the 1.5 liter motor. It starts up nice, runs fine, and shifts effortlessly. Brakes seems good, suspension seems ok, but I think it had an exhaust manifold gasket leak, I can only hear the exhaust leak if I press the pedal down a bit. The guy is asking $900 Canadian (680.95 US) for it. Is that a decent price? If I do decide to purchase it, what kind of reliability and fuel mileage can I expect out of this car? With gas prices hovering around the 90 cents per liter mark, I need something that's good on gas.

I bought a 95 Summit DL coupe today for $500. Now, take this into consideration. The vehicle has 256K, a tight motor that only has the normal Mitsubishi engine oil leak, just had the front end rebuilt, brakes done, two new tires. Just the service work alone would cover the price I paid. Thr front end work alone was almost $300. I wasn't sure how I would like the car but I think it will certainly grow on me.

I think you can talk him down a little. Offer 500 and see if they will take it.
