coolant temp sensor location + fans won't stopneondriver97 07-24-2004, 08:57 AM Hi, I'm new here with my 1997 Neon LE 2.0 SOHC with A/T and Airco. Great car, no problems except oil leaking head gasket, have the MLS part and new bolts on the shelf to fit when I have the time. It's just a small amount of oil and no trace of overheating. Since yesterday both of my radiator fans won't stop blowing until I pull the fuse in the PDC or disconnect a battery terminal. Or when the battery is empty, I suppose. My Neon is made in Toluca and has the solid state fan relay outside the PDC. Well, anyway, it's not inside the PDC. Found the repair procedure TSB, but before I get the expensive parts I want to check the coolant temp sensor. "Searched the whole place" but did not find it. Does anybody want to tell me where this sensor is located? Further more I wonder if I can modify the wiring in a way that I don't need the diode wiring and new solid state relay. Total cost over here is over $ 275,00 for just the 2 parts (diode wiring and relay), and that seems far more expensive than the parts prices in the US, I read of prices about $ 75,00. Does anybody want to give me a modification/repair method that would cost a little less? OK, a plain hand toggle switch could work fine for the cooling of the engine, but my airco needs to operate the fans too. Your help is very appriciated. Thanks from overseas. yogi_123rd 07-25-2004, 09:26 AM I believe the coolant temperature sensor switch is located at the bottom of the radiator. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
