I'm planning on buying a E30 325i/is/ix and I found a nice ix automatic with low mileage. In about two years i'd like to take out the M20 and put an M50 or M52 engine into it. How much harder would it be to put an M52 in rather than M50? I want a manual, but most of the cars with low miles are auto, would it pose a big problem if I bought an auto now, then in two years when I put the M50/52 in put a manual tranny in as well? Would the M52 with its loads of hp/tq mess up the AWD system of the ix that was made for 167hp? Thanks in advance :icon16:
