Hello. I have a 2000 Dodge Ram Quad Cab that has several huge cracks in the top of the dash. They extend completely from the windshield to the black interior trim around the gauges and from side to side. I am no longer under factory warranty and have contacted Dodge and they really have been of no help to this point. Has anyone else had a similar experience or ever heard of this? Also, if I have to replace the dash myself, does anyone have any suggestions? Please help if you can.

You can look at what I told this guy. It's probably not useful, but maybe insightful. I kind of think I was drinking or something when I wrote all that, but I don't know for sure. This thread:

Yes, I'm the guy that he is talking about. My Ram is a 97 and hace several crackes one which went end to end. As I stated, when I removed the smallest of the two pieces I noticed that the dash was connected to the defrost vents from the bottom up.
I purchased a new dash from Dodge @ $120. It needs to be painted before putting in. I'm thinking that the vents go to a main point somewhere centered that needs to be disconnected then the whole assembly will lift.

I also have a 2000 Dodge Ram. This summer(2005) my dash cracked with huge pieces coming off. I went too my dealer, who said he would have to talk to the company rep. but wasn't to hopeful that they could be of help.
I did some research and found that there was others like yourself and me that had this problem.
When visiting in Kentucky I talked to the service manger there who said he had 3 or 4 and that it is about $200 dollars USD for the part and About 6 hrs work
When I talked with my dealer again, he said that the Com. rep it didn't look to promising, but put a price together. I was told That they would have to replace the whole shell ( the Part alone costing $1500Cdn).
I told them, all that was needed was the panel(part #for my truck 5GK45RC8AB- your may vary depending on color).
THEY CALLED BACK TODAY AND SAID THAT THEY WOULD REPLACE THE PART _ I PAY FOR THE LABOR
