Hey all, I'm planning on making a "custom" rear strut bar for my 2000 Neon. I've got a Vibrant Strut Bar on the front with some....hehehe..."custom" modifications that makes it like 8x stiffer. I was wondering if anyone has made a custom rear bar for 2gens? The reason I ask is because I was thinking of buying another front strut bar off of Ebay and re-drilling the holes to fit the rear, and I was wondering which bar/year/etc etc would work the best for my application?

So what you're telling me is that you want tostick a stiff bar on your rear.

Hehe, that sounded funny, but yes. I just wanted to know if there was any value at all with having a stiffer strut bar in the rear, or is the difference negligible. Like, "quit over-analyzing the strut bar and get a bigger sway bar" kinda thing. When I say "is there any value in it", I mean will it change the handling at all in terms of understeer/oversteer, or bodyroll.

I dont think they made one for the 2000. At least I havent seen one. Honestly, I think having one in the front is sufficient unless you have some major mods.

A strange thing happened...

I decided to put a strut bar on the rear. I got a cheap one for the front off ebay and redrilled the holes...it seemed to increase the body roll around corners. Maybe having a really stiff body puts more effective weight on the springs? I dunno, it was strange. I'm still playin around with em, so I'll see what happens.
