LuminaAPV-3.8-1993, gas gauge reading highbobng 07-22-2004, 03:33 AM My 1993 LuminaAPV-3.8, gas gauge reading always register high or full even the gas is running low after 300 kilometers trip. Recently I had the gas sending unit changed by a mechanic and it still register higher than normal. When I top it up to all full, the needle goes beyond the maximum marking. My gas gauge is the one that is as large as the speedometer. Can any expert throw in some ideas. Lots of thanks. Its not worth the trouble... just reset your milage counter at every fill and keep an eye on it. You should have a good idea on average how many mpg you get. I have the same problem. chaddyp 07-22-2004, 10:54 AM I beleive The fuel pump float needs to be adjusted if you want that corrected. I agree Slammin, I have the same problem in my Lumina Euro, I follow the milage and usually just fill up between 300 and 350 Miles. It's not worth the fuss of going into the gas tank to fix a problem you can live with bobng 07-31-2004, 05:45 PM Thanks guys! I guess you two are right and I will do the same keeping the milage registered. 300+ 07-31-2004, 09:39 PM My 95 3.1 APV also runs out of gas at 1/8 to 1/4 tank. They are right on. Just reset in your head what is empty and watch mileage. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
