Hi, I have a 2003 Xterra, and Im looking to upgrade the entire sound sytem. I have the one with tweeters on the A-Pillars. Im looking to get some decent seperates for the front, but Im not sure what will fit. What tweeters will fit the stock locations? Does anyone have the specs or speaker sizes for all stock locations, including tweeters? This info would be greatly appreciated!

I have a 2004 Xterra with the a-pillar tweeters. I installed a pair of kicker R6 (6-1/2” components). http://www.kicker.com/Closeup.cfm?menu=midtweet&image=/images/2001/products/rs6.jpg
I ended up removing the factory tweeters and hot gluing the Kicker tweeters to the backside of molding. I mounted the crossovers in the glove box.
The doors have a VERY shallow mounting depth. I had to use a 3/4” MDF ring just to get the speakers to fit in the door. Make sure that when you are installing your door speakers, have the windows all the way down so you can see just how much room you have to work with.
As far as wiring, I ran the tweeter wires down and under the side of the dash. I used the factory wiring for the door speakers.
~Good Luck!

Check out

select your vehicle make, model, etc. It will tell what fits your X. 6 3/4 or 6 1/2 in front. 6 x 9 in rear. You can place tweeters anywhere you would like. There are definitely better places to mount them than where they are in the "A" pillars.
Good luck!!

I have a set of Infinity refrence components 5.25's" crutchfield says that 5.25" will fit but will I need a spacer for them to fit? The reason I ask is because crutchfield also said 6" and 6.5" will fit also.

2005 X s model....I am about to do this job, (System install) And I am getting more confussed. Crutchfield says that I have 6.50 s in the front and 5.25s in the rear? That don't make no sense. I wonder what will actually FIT? ALl I have figured right now is the head unit (Double Din) and that my 1000 watt amp will go in the rear floor compartment. LOOKING for Ideas! Pics are better!
