My 1989 325i is overheating. I have changed the thermostat and checked the hoses for warmth, theyre all hot. I bled the system and everything seems fine but the problem still persists. Please Help!

Are you SURE it's overheating?, or is the gauge just reading strangely.............this is common, see some of the other posts.............................jeffb.

Yes positive about the overheating the antifreeze is being emptied out the reserve tank......

does it ony run hot @ idle?

does the oil look whitish? [open the oil cap]

just something to check, I had a problem where the heater hose had a small hole in, the antifreeze was going on the side of the motor and evaporating. the way I found it..was with the motor hot I stood on the side looking at all the hoses as I raced the motor.. just something to check..

I thank you all for your responses.OK don't know how old fan clutch is.Car will run hot but when it idles it definitely overheats and tossess out anti-freeze.I checked the hoses this morning and found theat the bottom rad hose was very kool while all the others were warm.I also checked for signs of a blown headgasket and no milky substance in oil or in resevoir.I'm kinda leaning towards the water pump but i tok the belt off the other day and it spun freely did'nt seem to be any problem not sure if thats a reason to completely eliminate that.Again thanx for all your support.
