k i went to the dealer today to see the potential vehical i wanted to buy...

i was hoping you guys can help me see if this seems legit...

for $12900 (still negotiable...he told me probably about $1000 off..so $11900)...civic '00 sig with 133000km with custom 17' rims and lowered about an inch...(rims and lowering were done by that dealership)..and for more info on the dealer...the salesman said he's been there for 4 years...and the dealership has been there for 15 years..(if anyone is from the toronto, ont area....the dealership is "the collection" on finch...

is that good..or am i walkin into a lemon trap? (btw..i'm talkin canadian money)....

also...does anyone know how to actually tell the difference between an SI and SIG??? is there something i can look for or do i go by the dealers word...
cause they claim its an sig and when i go on carfax it says it's si..but then again sig is just an si in america i'm told...and carfax is american??.

the vin number is 1hgej8179yl800532 ...so if anyone has a membership of carfax and you're bored..think youcan help me out...

but any infomation for this post would be greatly appreciated...

also is it common for an engine to have like oil burns on it or something ...i figured that's how most look without the pretty little plastic cover that covers the engine?

thanks again

if you think $12900 is too much..then what do ya think is a good price for a 2000 si then for about 115-130000km??

130,000km is 118,872 miles. that's a lot of mileage. i wouldn't pay over 10 for it...

Huh? 130,000 km is something like 81,000 miles. :screwy:
That's not bad at all.
And $12,000 Canadian = $9,141.48 US.
Again, not bad.

I have no idea about the car itself or the dealer's reputation, but all you Canadians are so damned friendly, it's hard to imagine even a crooked car salesman up there. Unless they're French... :iceslolan

grr i am learning french in school, meh oo well.
i have never even heard of this so called SiG, ive heard of SiR crazy talk right here, a long the same lines of mileage and cars, my friend bought his camry with 220,000 miles on iot, for 500 bucks

my opinion would be to bring him down a little more

Yeah if its not the DOHC VTEC model w/ 4 disc brakes...its a little high.

If it is a DOHC VTEC model go for it, its kinda good deal.

Open the hood and read the engine code. If it starts with B16A2--BLA BLA BLA its the good engine.

I have never heard of an SIG before... but according to your VIN it's a 2000 SI Coupe made in America in Ohio and the Engine code should be B16A2 Like mentioned above. I wouldn't pay more $10k US.

ok civic sig = si (us ex) with abs brakes. Its got a d17y8 engine no b16 engine. sig = si with group package. hope this helps.
