ideas for building a 1978 320ijobyleary 07-20-2004, 11:00 PM OK, It has been years since I have had time to play with my cars and now I am thinking of getting back into it. I have a 1978 320i sitting in my garage. I parked it there 8 years ago when the clutch started slipping. Now I am considering putting it back into factory original shape or maybe *dreaming* building a sleeper monster to go embarass M3's. I saw one in Toronto once. I think it had an old 2.8 or 3.0 six cyl. that had been turbo'ed. The suspension was done and fenders gently flared for monster rubber. Got a woody just remembering it. Seems like NO ONE plays with the 320's though and I don't know where to start. Any ideas? Suggestions turbo vs blown? Engine choices? It is an open slate right now. Thoughts? Web Pages? uncontrolled laughter? jeffreyb4me 07-21-2004, 08:40 PM Laughter, NO WAY!, woody?, well.......I LOVE our '80 320iS [restored], stock rebuilt engine, springs, shocks, 15" Zenders, 205/50 S-03's, custom redone interior & Boxter Yellow paint, I'll post a pic. one of these days......START lookin' for a totaled E36 M3!.....it'll take some work, but the small 6 cyl's were availible in Europe in E21's for years, and your finished car will be lighter than an E36 !
