I would probably start off with a intake or cat back exhaust. Both are quick and easy installs.

definatly change the headgasket or at least torq it down to 70 ftlbs it will make a huge difference especially if ur gonna inject it or boost it me personally i would go with an hks metal or toyota factory but dont do a all copper never had good luck with those. then if your paint is failing like mine i would get it painted and that should take care of ur money. my suggestion is that then when you get board driving the car then modd it. me im still not board with my n/a supra and i have owned it for almost 3 months now, but tommrow hopefully it will start the long haul of getting supercharged!!!

Change the HG... on a N/A? The HG problem still exsists the same as with the turbo but they hardly go bad unless the car was mistreated all it's life, the problem is only aggrivated by the extra HP that the turbo brings. If there are no signs of BHG don't worry about the HG at all, just check/replace tje regular maintanence items like plugs, wires, rotor button and cap, fuel filter, and those kinds of things. As I've said many times before, if your only looking for alittle bit of n/a HP gain than a pacesetter/peaco header with a 2.5" exhaust and a K&N filter would be a nice choice, if you want real power just save for a turbo swap.

If your gonna change the head gasket i would save more than $500 for it. If you take the time to tear all the engine apart you might as well do more internal work at the same time. So unless its bad already it doesnt pay to go through all the hassle. Also i really doubt you can get a descent paint job for $500. Just stick with the easier bolt ons like exhaust and intake, plugs and wires. headers and such.

Just rebuilt the engine to my 87'. torquing the head down to 70ft lbs is a definite.. very easy, just take off throttle body, then cam covers... cold air intake, cat back exhaust are nice to get right away.. short throw shifter makes it nice too...
