Non-vtec 98 Honda civicDZNZ 07-20-2004, 11:01 AM Okay -- there was some discussion as to whether or not Honda makes a non-vtec Honda civic ex. I thought that mine was non-vtec, but others said there was no such thing. I did not see a dohc so it made me wonder. I also went to auto zone to buy rotors and there was a non-vtec option. I also noticed that the crappy oil filter computer at walmart had a non-vtec option. I also called a dealership and they said that yes, there is such a thing as a non-vtec engine in a 98 honda civic. Anyone else run into this question? Peace, DZNZ CivicSpoon 07-20-2004, 12:09 PM No 98 civic came with a dohc engine in it. Did you ask the dealership if there was a non-vtec EX or just non-vtec model in general? exman98 07-20-2004, 01:49 PM yeah there may have been some confusion some where and the shitty owners manual wont help at all never does for me exman98 07-20-2004, 01:51 PM but i did just check and it didnt say anything about a not vtec EX snowman2005 07-20-2004, 02:02 PM dx is non vtec u might of confused dx with ex. idk DZNZ 07-20-2004, 02:42 PM I asked the dealership about a non-vtec EX. They said there is such a thing. Someone else told me (another post) that Canada has a non-vtec model and that it may be showing up in the computer (auto zone/walmart/honda dealership) because of that. Go figure! You learn something every day! Peace, DZNZ snowman2005 07-20-2004, 02:56 PM good info to know. its probably a canadian model or something. whats the engine code do u know.
