OEM parts and date manufactured questionsPJ7 07-20-2004, 12:39 AM I would like to identify a good internet source for Toyota OEM parts (ie. plugs, filters, struts, brake pads, etc.). Has anyone had experience buying Toyota OEM parts via the internet? Good experiences, bad experiences, cost savings, best website. I started to do research and etoyotaparts.com appears to be good, although the website does not indicate what state they conduct business from. Also, does anyone know how to tell what month in a model year a Toyota was manufactured by the VIN or some other ID on the car? I am not the original owner and I see no labels under the hood. Thanks in advance for any information you can offer. Brian R. 07-20-2004, 01:06 AM Here is the information given by the VIN: http://www.autofacts.ca/classics/vininfo.htm#17digitVIN The date of manufacture is not in the VIN Toyota parts departments can tell you alot about your car if you give them your VIN. Maybe they could tell what day it was made. For Parts: http://www.toyotaandlexusparts.com/ http://www.tautoparts.com/ Daniel M. Butler Toyota, Lincoln Frash, 800-692-6396, http://www.toyotadiscountparts.com/ free shipping over $100, 3232 Harper Road, Indianapolis Over 11 yrs. on the job there. Came back with the best quote on a parts list for timing belt, water pump, gaskets, etc. - around 26 items in all. Genuine factory parts, everything fit - no wrong parts. Look on the stamped metal plate near the driver's door and supply date of manufacture with the VIN# when ordering parts.
