Anti-sway bars

I'm sure a lot of people here have installed anti-sway bars on their cars themselves, so hopefully someone can help.
I don't need step-by-step instructions because every brand is different, but do you need to take other parts off in order to install them, or do they just bolt right on? From what I've seen it looks like the upper front one just goes between the tops of the front shocks so I guess maybe that one's the easiest, but underneath I'm betting it's more complicated than that.
Anyone know how hard this is?
Any tips?

Upper strut bars are simple to install, lower tie bars are simple to install, sways bars are just as easy to install. Best advice - follow instructions!

Who's the dipshit? Sway bars are NOTHING like strut/tie bars, they don't even do the same thing :screwy: Out of the 6 bars one can install, a rear sway bar upgrade will have the biggest affect on handling.

Uppers - remove 4 strut nuts, install bar, reinstall nuts
Lowers - remove 2 LCA bolts, install bar, reinstall bolts
Sway bars - (front) remove end links & bushings, pull out bar, reverse for install. (rear) same.

Thank you. That's what I was looking for. A little help.

I posted this question to get some help. Obviously, if I knew anything about sway bars or strut bars, I wouldn't have posted the question in the first place.

Too many people on this site are so fast to jump in to try to make other people look stupid, and can't be bothered explaining themselves to help anyone out. All corrections, no suggestions.

Thanks, Jackasssi.

Upper strut bars brace the strut towers(front/rear)
Lower tie bars brace the lower control arms. Both are weak spots, stiffer chassis means a better overall handling car. Sway bars on the other hand connect one side of the vehicle(l/r) to the other reducing body roll, flatter car in corner means better handling. Sway bar basically acts as a 3rd springs, for instance during a hard right turn all the weight will want to rotate to the left side making the right side "light" With a sway bar installed it will add "weight" to the light side. A stable car is a predictable one.

ALL front wheel drive cars have understeer due to the design(front wheels steering & putting power to the ground). The easiest way to overcome or equal it out is to install a larger rear sway bar. Understeer is when your turning & it doesn't want to turn - front end pushes. Understeer/oversteer is different than OVER DRIVING. If you use a large rear sway bar also use a lower tie to prevent frame tearing. Suspension Techniques makes the best sway bars for the $$$$ - www.jegs.com

AWESOME!

Thanks for the explanation. I'm not sure if I'm going to get those sway bars, though. I've been driving my car for seven years and I've never had any problem with the steering. Smooth and easy as it needs to be. It might be technically inferior, but it's worked very well for me so far. I'll give it some time.

I appreciate the help.

Good one snowball. I'm deeply hurt.

All your answer told me was that you read an issue of Sport Compact once but you've never gotten your hands dirty because you don't even know how to put them on. So go ahead and talk shit and then have your daddy fix your car some more.

Hey, I'm done if you are.
I just wanted to make a point - if you don't have something productive to say, don't bother posting.
