Well, I don't know about anyone else, but nobody around here carries cheap anime. I mean, FLCL is $30 and there are only 2 episodes on the DVD, other shows are like $25 for each volume, and movies are $30. These aren't like special edition movies, or two disc DVDs, just standard DVDs. I think these prices are just rediculous. Is there any place/site that actually sells anime DVDs at reasonable prices?

Ebay 9 times out of 10 equals bootlegs.

A better idea is the new budget anime lineups many of the larger anime distributors are releasing.

Also, Bandai and FUNimation sell their regular DVD's at the 19.99 price point. Today I bought Wolf's Rain Volume 1 at Best Buy for that, and on Saturday I bought Tenchi Muyo GXP at Gamestop for 19.99.

As demand goes up, the cost of anime goes down.

I just found some good deals in Best Buy today.

Ghost in the shell - Stand alone complex $17 I bought it too, very well done DVD (dubbed dolby 5.1, japanese dolby 5.1 - my fav in combination with english subtitles, and a bunch of extras)


they also had 1-6 Initial Ds for $15 each and even the platinum edition NGE with the colectors box for only $14

or you should get together with some friends and split up your dvd collection. each of you can buy a different one and trade or split the price on a certain. I guess you can also just rent if you arent interested in building up a collection

Only if it's unlicensed anime are those two acceptable alternatives.

Besides, plenty of nice LEGAL oppurtunities around.
