Hi, I have a 1993 Camry, it has only a radio and cassette player currently. Is it possible to install a third party cd player in the space under the radio/cassette unit (there is a space about the size of a stereo unit under the current unit) without first removing the original stereo? In other words, can I install a cd player ithout removing my old radio/cassette unit?

Thanks

I don't think you will have much success getting a third party CD player to work in tandem with your factory radio/tape player. I see 2 options:
1) Ditch the factory radio/tape and go with an aftermarket radio/CD unit. OR
2) Get a Toyota add-on CD unit off ebay. These will fit in the pocket below the radio - that's where it was designed to go. You can find these reasonably priced on ebay.

If you go with option 2, you will need to do some research to find out which add-on CD player will plug into your factory radio/tape player. The dealer should be able to help you with this, or you can pull out your radio and take a look at the plugs on the back side.

I have a 93 camry wagon with a factory CD player, and it kinda sucks because it really skips whenever you go over bumps, so you might want to take into consideration that the 93 factory cd players weren't that great of quality.
