2000 Camry 4 cyl, CE. When I turned the heater switch on yesterday with AC off, I got this horrible vibrating roar which increased as I turned the switch on to higher speeds. Sounds pretty unhealthy. Any one know what is going on, fix, etc? Thanks

I actually think that the "roar" you're hearing is quite normal for the 4th gens. I have had the same problem with mine for quite a while, and I just kinda ignore it. I've checked out the whole blower assembly and everything, and it all looks fine. So if you do find out, maybe it will fix both of our problems.

Actually this just happened out of the blue so I don't it would be normal.

All right, well if it just started out of the blue, then you'll probably need to take the blower motor and assembly down and check it for damage. You also may want to clean it with compressed air.

Thank for you for following this thread. I called two Toyota dealers and they both opined that there was a critter nest in the area around the fan and that it was throwing things off balance. We do have mice and squirrels in the garage. I will be taking it in Wednesday a.m. to have one of them look at it. I will let you know what they found. I will post a new thread.
