I think i may need to replace my brake rotors and pads.
i have a 93 si with 4-wheel disc and NO ABS. how difficult would it be to upgrade to a set of cross-drilled or slotted rotors? how expensive would it be? would it be worth it? I would love to do a big brake conversion, but i cant afford that, so im thinking just getting the rotors replaced with slotted or cross drilled of the same size.

also, since i dont trust myself to mess with my brake system, what would i expect to pay at a shop???

brakes are sooooo easy to do. don't pay someone to do it for you!

rotors of the same size will not need any mods to install. doesnt matter if they are cross drilled or slotted (do slotted, less likely to crack)

so how much does it cost to get a set of slotted rotors? what company makes some good ones (brakes are the last thing i want to cut costs on)
where should i get them from, an online retailer?

oh, and will i notice a difference in performance over the stock ones?
thanks for the advice though, maybe i could try and do them myself. i have a factory service manual....

read your service manual, take your time, and do it yourself. it really is an easy project. the first time i did my own brakes i was 17 and wondered why the hell i had ever payed to have them done by someone else.

for rotors and pads you can check www.tirerack.com i personally like the brembo slotted rotos, and they wont rust either.
