I'll Try Them For A Month Or Two... greenmonkey 07-30-2004, 10:04 AM dont get a bigger brake. the added weight will be harder to stop and to get up to speed. itd be better to get stainless steel brake lines and semi-metallic pads. Takumi8187 07-30-2004, 01:59 PM Anything over 1.5 inches and you'll need a camber kit. phoenixitc 07-30-2004, 08:49 PM Did some of y'all catch Bill Cosby recently regarding the language used by some of the young folks!? It's quite apparent here!!! dc2_bountyinteg 07-31-2004, 10:25 PM Why would you want to go lower than two inches your car will ride like you are driving on and old worn out matress pad. If you want to go low and have to replace your tires every month not to mention look dumb with your tires always at a 45 degree angle be my guest. But I did not know they made spinners in a 16" wheel. :) eckoman_pdx 08-01-2004, 07:04 PM MACHINALBERTO, 1) Cursing out moderators is a very bad idea. But I did not know they made spinners in a 16" wheel. :) your very ignorant, goin lower then 2" your car will ride like a worn out matress is the stupidest comment, your shit probally rides like that cause you cut the springs, done right it will ride nice my truck's frame lays on the ground and my truck rides like a caddy. and the comment about goin thru tires every month is a lie, ive had my truck 7 months and ride with nc *the 45 degree comment* all the time and my tires look practicly brand new http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v162/jetts/45200433428PM52261.jpg you can never go to low dc2_bountyinteg 08-03-2004, 12:54 AM Did I say my car rides like that no because I would not lower it that much. What is the point in lowering your car that much anyway? It does not do anygood for performance? I am not trying to be a dick I just want to know what the point is Ricochet 08-03-2004, 01:24 AM Miataracer 08-03-2004, 01:40 AM your very ignorant, goin lower then 2" your car will ride like a worn out matress is the stupidest comment, your shit probally rides like that cause you cut the springs, done right it will ride nice my truck's frame lays on the ground and my truck rides like a caddy. and the comment about goin thru tires every month is a lie, ive had my truck 7 months and ride with nc *the 45 degree comment* all the time and my tires look practicly brand new http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v162/jetts/45200433428PM52261.jpg you can never go to low not to be a dick or anything but you are talking about a nissan truck and this thread is talking about a honda car... i dont see where your truck sitting on the ground and riding like a caddy applies? :screwy: Jetts 08-03-2004, 01:43 AM the guy said riding lower then 2" rides like a matress or someshit i was just commenting about how it doesnt, and that nissan with the 12" bodydrop is insane, and my trucks not a nissan wasnt trying to be a dick or anything i was just commenting on how riding lower then 2" doesnt ride like shit, ive been in plenty of hondas that are lower then 2" and dont ride like shit Miataracer 08-03-2004, 01:55 AM this is true... i have never ridden in anything with bags but i imagine the ride quality is pretty decent. Jetts 08-03-2004, 02:01 AM aslong as you got shocks it should be nice now without shocks its bouncy, but what car isnt without shocks? Miataracer 08-03-2004, 02:04 AM lol... that just made me think of the crappy ass car on the movie uncle buck Jetts 08-03-2004, 02:05 AM hahah with a the big ass backfire such a classic dc2_bountyinteg 08-03-2004, 03:08 PM ricochet that is funny they should enter that truck in the hall of fame for worlds stupidest idea gone wrong. Jetts 08-03-2004, 04:35 PM actually, it is a stupid idea, and its pretty hacked its alrdy been ridiculed and put to shame can you beleive the owner drives that thing? eckoman_pdx 08-05-2004, 06:58 PM actually, it is a stupid idea, and its pretty hacked its alrdy been ridiculed and put to shame can you beleive the owner drives that thing? Hahaha, now that's just kind of sad. 94PreludeJDM 08-18-2004, 01:54 AM I don't see how a car lowerd 2 inches can ride well. Maybe it rides well in a straight line, but you better have one hell of a suspension set up to do any kind of heavy cornering. I've also heard anything more than 1.75 inch drop and you need a camber kit. As for the lowered Izusu, I'll take that thing on through a slalom and own it any day, and I've only got a 1 inch drop. It's all about the entire set up, not just the height. eckoman_pdx 08-22-2004, 03:14 AM I don't see how a car lowerd 2 inches can ride well. I've also heard anything more than 1.75 inch drop and you need a camber kit. As for the lowered Izusu, I'll take that thing on through a slalom and own it any day, and I've only got a 1 inch drop. It's all about the entire set up, not just the height. The thought that ANY kind of lowering 2" will make a car drive poor is wrong. Yes, a poor lowering job, like mismatched springs and shocks, the use of "sleeve style (like Skunk2) coil-overs," etc will make it ride and handle like crap. If done right however, with proper componets like a good set of Tein coilovers or H & R coilovers (true threadded shock bodycoilovers, not the crappy sleeve style like skunk2) it can handle very well. With the Teni type-flex, for example, for a 92-95 civic, the drop can be 2.24" all around and still keep full suspension travel. Howver, the shocks and springs are much much stiffer, than stock. Sure, it's a more "jarring" ride, more stiff. But thats exactly why it handles better. This stiffrer suspension thats tuned right will result in less body roll, among other things. Less comfortabler for grandma? Sure, but it WILL handle and corner better. If you go further and have corner weighting done, you can furhter improve the weight transfer/distribution over the shocks to further improve handling and cornering. Now yes, you'll need a camber kit if you like your tires to not wear out extemrely quick. In general, anything over 1.75" will need it, I've seen some 1.5" drops need it. If you arn't sure if you need it, when you get your car algined after it's lowered, if the camber is too far out of spec, you'll need an adjustable camber kit. If you want more on this, ask SilverY2KCivic or jackasssi. They know their suspensions very well, and I'm sure they'd be glad to answer questions. THE PIC OF THE ENGINE IS ATTACHED AND HE HAD A FAST PIECE OF SHIT SO WATCH YOUR MOUTH PUNK I know this thread hasn't recieved a response in 10 days since my post here, but seeing as this comment above was aimed at me, I felt I'd respond a bit... First off, how long has he been in the hospital?? Come on...I mean jeez, I posted that comment over a month ago, then over 1 month later you come on and say that? I posted that RIGHT after he posted...and never heard a response back. He suddenly disappeared from the board and now a MONTH LATER you post this junk? Secondly, lil bro or not, Bullsh*t is bullsh*t and a lie is a lie. His stories where way put there. Plane and simple. Tell bullsh*t in here, someones gonna call you on it. If you don't want people calling the BS, then don't start it. Whether you think his car was fast or not, his storys where WAAYY out there. He bragged no stop, supposedly knows all this junk, then can't figure out if 2" is too low? I mean, come on....please. Finally, based on what he was saying an how he was bragging before the "accident," sad to say I can't say I'm suporsed to here he got into one. He had that attuitude, brag, I'm all bad, my cars bad, I'm fast and know it all...oh yeah, how do I lower it... I mean come on. If he wants respect, just be honest. If it's stock, thats ok..modded, fine. But don't brag and act like all this hot shit, you'll get called in here EVERY time. And next time you want to start beef over OLD COMMENTS, try and say something before over a MONTH later. You had pleny of time to get pissy and post earlier. and finally... Since I gather you didn't seem to pay much attention to my sound advice you quoted, I think I'll re-post the advice...remember...and pay attention to te last comment there... 1) Cursing out moderators is a very bad idea. Again, this is a bad idea, not a good idea. 2) Trying to cause problems and lie in the forums in general is a bad idea for that matter. 3) You claim all that BS in the other thread..."I run 11's, etc" and then you have to ask "is a 2" drop too low..forget it, I went with bags." http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbu...ad.php?t=258762 If you insist on lying, at least try and keep your lies straight and believable. goinbig 09-21-2004, 04:27 PM HEY BRO I WONT LET YOU CALL MY LIL BRO A LIER SPECIALLY IF HIS DUMB ASS IS IN THE HOSPITAL AND CAN'T ANSWER BACK, SINCE HE GOT IN A ACCIDENT SO THERE GOES HIS CAR ...
