I Need Help Fast!!!delsolpimp 07-16-2004, 11:51 PM ok i have a 93 del sol si sohc and i been havin starting problem for the past 2 months and i just got a new dist. and wires plugs and a fresh tune up and here latly its been hesatating when it starts or it will just crank and not fire and if i let it sit for a lil it will fire right up. but as of wen. i put my header on and let it off the jack and it started up then i went to grab something came back to start it and just got the crankin noise i changed the dist. cap wit a even newer one and the rotor and still no fire so if u could help me out that would be awsome! thanx! invaderhonda@aol.com got the new header on there and cant even try it out till i get it started aint that some sh*t b16a3sol 07-18-2004, 01:09 AM is it getting fuel and spark every time you are trying to start it, or is it missing one of those when it doesnt work? delsolpimp 07-18-2004, 04:11 PM im not sure. the belts r moving and all im clueless. when i took the header off i couldnt get the o2 secnser off so i cut it but even then it still started as soon as i took it off the jack but today i bought a brand new one and put it on there because someone told me that was my problem but it still wont start but it kinda sounds different now i still get the cranking but it make a different sound inbetween like every 3rd crank any ideas? its goin to the shop tomorrow because of the warreny on the dis. work and the tune up to see if it is something wrong wit what they did but u know what they r goin to say so any advice would help thanx! b16a3sol 07-19-2004, 12:54 AM the first thing to do is figure out if its getting fuel and spark whenever you try and start it. to check for spark, take out a plug, ground the threads and try and start the car. only do very short intervals when trying to start it for safety. when you are doing this, look for a spark on the plug, if one exists, then fuel is most likely your problem. to check for fuel, the easiest, most ghetto way, is to take the fuel line off the filter and see if there is pressure when you put the key in 'on' position. fuel will spray out of the line, so put a cup or rag in front of it to catch it. as for what the shop is going to say, i have no idea, i havent looked at the car, and you havent given too much info yet. more than likely, they will say that its an electrical problem, as fuel problems are not nearly as common. get an estimate from them and see what you can fix yourself for cheap to help remedy the situation. find things that help and go down that road until a solution is found. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
