keyless remote programming

alright, i have the keyless entry remote but it doesnt work and hasnt worked since i bought the car. i think it may just need to be reprogrmmed but i dont know how. anybody goot any thoughts for me?

look in your owners manual, mine didnt work either and the manual told me how to jumper 2 of the pins in the diagnostic connector and program the remote. worked like a champ.
