1992 Chevrolet Lumina 3.1 EuroPortisphereNet 07-15-2004, 09:42 PM I have a Chevy Lumina [1992] 3.1 Euro 4-dr sedan. I would turn on the ignition and then use the gas afterwards as it turned on, but when I let my foot off the accelerator (gas), the car dies. Repeat efforts were made to same results. Car runs, but dies when I release the accelerator. Any causes to this type of trouble? If so, information will be most helpful as I ran out of ideas. Also when engine shuts down or starts a whirring sound can be heard in the back closest to the gas tank. Anyone can help me? Thanks. :sunglasse cakuzma 08-01-2004, 08:14 PM My 92 Lumina Did the same problem step on gas it worked fine let go it shut off I had a Shop test it and they found out that.............................................. .............................. one of the vaccume hoses connected to the tranny was broke so they repl;aced it and now it runs perfectly (croses fingers to not get bad luck) PortisphereNet 08-02-2004, 01:53 AM Hey Cakuzma, I am going to have someone check it out to see if that would be a problem that my Lumina is currently having. So far we have ruled out that it wasn't a gasoline/fuel injector problem because gasoline flows well. About how much would a vacuum hose to the trany would cost a guy nowadays? But thanks anyway, I will keep and anyone else that should post after this post posted. Wish me luck on that. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
