Part numbers needed...charlesw1970 07-15-2004, 08:27 AM I have a '99 Malibu that I'm have an issue with the blinkers not working and the a/c fan not working on setting 1 or 2. I have read several listing on what is causing these problems, but does anyone know the part numbers and where exactly they are located in the car? e2helper 07-15-2004, 09:56 AM So you know that the problems are likely the Hazard Switch and Blower Motor Resistor? The turn signal "blinker" problem is likely this part but probably would have to do a bit more checking to be sure (do both left and right turn not work? Do the 4-way blinkers also not work?) Both of these parts are part are inside vehicle part of instrument panel assembly. Both are not the easiest parts to access. http://www.geocities.com/raj380/malibu_nolf/misc/blowerresistor.pdf The second drawing of blower resistor shows it really well but it is from a weird perspective upside down. I put an arrow to show front of vehicle. Actually the Hazard switch had a recall for some 2000/2001 model vehicles but not the 1999. I think you could only get that part at a dealer. The blower resistor is available other places from what I have read but I don't really know specific part numbers you would need, sorry. BeatnikTermite 07-15-2004, 04:42 PM Check out this other thread for the basic instructions for the Blower Motor Resistor: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=199000 The part number is not necessary. Just go to CarQuest (and I think Napa) and ask for the Blower Motor Resistor. This is a common problem with 97-03 Chevys, Olds, and Pontiac. The parts guy will know. The one you need to take out is green, about 2 inches by three inches, and is a small computer board. The one you need to put in (improved part) is about three inches by 4 inches and has a black coating over the whole green "chip." The whole job should not be more than $20 and an hour. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
