New Problem

ok, i was the one who had the check engine light on the 03 eclipse. i think the problem is thier is a crack or leak on my intake manifold. because i retighted the intake and still doing the same jerking motion. :banghead: my car is still under engine and trans. warrenty. :naughty: will this cover my intake manifold if it has a leak or craked, or even if the gasket is no good? i can hear a hissing sound where air is being sucked in some where by my intake manifold but can't seem to find it. if it won't be covered by my warrenty can someone tell me how much it will run me if i would have to pay for everything? thnks a bunch guys :biggrin:

since you can hear the hiss, it's just going to be a small leak. possible you'll just need to replace the gasket ($ ?) or at the worst, you'll have to get a seam or part of you're intake welded to seal it if it's cracked. so it's a pretty cheap fix since you know what it is now.

If it is under warranty, I would at least take it to the dealer for repair. Save yourself some money.

Do you have an aftermarket intake or stock? Mitsu dealerships are really skinflints and may make an issue of any aftermarket item you have on your car. Is the hiss coming from the intake piping or the upper intake plenum? Or even the throttle body?
