I have a DEI (viper) remote start on my 2000 Malibu. A battery leak ate up the fuse. Anybody have any idea what size fuse is reasonable for a remote start system? I'm up to 30 and it's still blowing. Should be similar size whether it's factory or another brand, since it's the starter that's drawing all the juice.

Not sure what method of install your installer used to do the install on your car but I never run to the battery. I always get my wiring under the dash. On the remote start "brain" you have a 10 amp fuse. Then depending on the model of remote starter, you'll either have 1 or 2 wires that require 30amp. If any of that is still causing fuses to blow, you will need to find the short before going any farther.
