Ok i already searched and didn't find anything on this, so i was wondering what exactly a "Twin entry" turbo system is. I know a decent amount about turbos but not much about 3sgte's as of yet so as much info on this as possible would be sweet.

-Thanx

i think its suppose to sorta act like a twin turbo. it basically gives better low end torque.

twin-entry = instead of all 4 cylinders coming together into one hole to enter the turbo (like most turbo cars), the MR2's CT26 turbo has a split in it's "entrance".

2 cylinders go into each split. The point of this is that you get 2 separate exhaust "pulses" to spool up the turbo. In theory it gives you a faster spool up time.

doesn't that cause a little backpressure that could affect top end performance and possibly cause detonation at high boost.

what kind of manifold do you have. tubular or log ? is there a bi-entry exhaust/turbine housing on the T3/T4 you upgraded to

lol .... the CT26 turbo on the MR2 does not have any "top end performance" and is not capable of "high boost"

The turbo was designed to be a fast spooling, low rpm unit. It can't even hold max boost beyond 5500 rpms and it chokes itself above 15 psi.

My T3/T4 is not twin entry ... but I am using the OEM manifold which I believe still has the split in it.
But my adapter plate does not.

lol you are absolutely right...

however ...what sort of flange does the stock manifold have...meaning what other stock turbo will fit. Nissan/ garret T25, T28? or any other ones.

The Toyota CT20B bolts right up to the manifold ... all other turbos need an adatper plate from what I have seen.

cool, that makes sence, me and some of my friends were trying to figure it out and kept thinking the twin entry was on the intake side of the turbo, like it had dual intake filters or somthing. That makes alot more sence.

Doesn't It Suck... Peak Power Is Listed At Like 6000 But By Then The Turbo's Got Stuff All... But It Does Spool Nicely And Sounds Cool With A Decent Intake....
