Ok I've thrown my TSI out the window. If i got it i'd have to travel across 2 states.....NO i will not (actually i would but i don't have the means of transportation) so I'm now lookin for...

1990-2000
Coupe
Japanese make
Tons of Aftermarket parts
FWD
Low insurance (being only 18 and all)
good performance at stock
below 8k
and not hideous (such as the crx)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is a pretty crowded segment. Here are my top 5 picks (in order from best to worst):

1. 1990-1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T (best performance)

2. 1994-2000 Acura Integra GS-R (best aftermarket)
3. 1993-1996 Honda Prelude VTEC (similar to Integra, but a little costlier)
4. 1990-1992 Mazda MX-6 GT Turbo (stock turbo, good performance potential)
5. 1994-1999 Toyota Celica GT (cheap and reliable, performance is poor though)

well if he doesnt like the looks of a crx he wont like the look of the mx-6 either.

only one not named i guess would be civic si/dx/ex

Actually, I figured if he didn't like the CRX, he wouldn't like the Civic, so I didn't name it, plus I already had two Honda sport coupes up there. *shrug* The Civic Si is certainly better than the Celica GT, though.

si is the fastest of them all with i believe around 160hp . the ex and dx are basically the same car, except you can get the dx in hatch form. the dx and ex are also basically the same engine only diference is that the ex has a vtec head, which you can buy and use on the dx engine. so basically al parts fitting on the ex will fit on the dx
