grille for 2001 camry20camry01 07-12-2004, 12:28 AM Does anyone know of any aftermarket grills for the camry? WissNX01 07-12-2004, 04:48 AM Something to think about, even though no one will... Grills can affect two things. First thing is the ability of your radiator to get airflow. Remember the radiator cools your engine, and if you reduce the flow, you increase your engine temperature, and bad things happen. Second thing is a very technical sounding name: Volumetric Effieciency. All that means is how much air/fuel flow your engine has, and how effectivly it uses it. If you reduce your air flow, you reduce your Volumetric effieciency, thus gas milage takes a giant shit, and you loose horsepower. Now, with that out of the way, try an internet search on Google. phisigbrotha 07-12-2004, 05:01 PM an aftermarket upper grille wont affect air flow to the radiator. it gets the majority of its air from the bottom opening. an aftermarket upper grill wil not affect how much the engine's intake takes in. the stock intake pulls in air from the fender. if a ram air type intake were set up the upper grill it would make a difference. WissNX01 07-12-2004, 05:10 PM ^is that what you think, or is that a fact, as according to you? If you restrict any airflow, you CAN cause trouble. It doesnt matter where a majority comes from, because when you reduce its flow in other places, you do bad things to your car. A RAM AIR? Are you for real? On a Camry? Is this what your frat buddies tell you? I just posted as a matter of something to consider, personally I wouldnt get a different grill, unless it allowed MORE flow from the stock one. Everything on a car is designed that way for a reason. When you go out making changes, without knowing other factors, that is really dumb. Put a plastic bag over your grille, or cardboard, you will almost definatly see a difference. Thats an extreame example what certain modifications can do. If it were me, I would change out your single core radiator for a 3 core. Then modify your grille. But I guess Ill look for a website for you. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
