2002 Cavalier Tire pressureNSChevFan 07-10-2004, 09:52 PM Greetings folks. I just bought a 2002 Cavalier. Unfortunalety, I find it a bit 'squirrely' on the highway and suspect my tires are over inflated. The Owners manual says to check the driver's door for recommended tire pressures, but the sticker is missing. I have been unable to find any information on recommended tire pressures for the car on the internet. Thanks in advance. Frank G 07-10-2004, 10:05 PM The P195/65R15s have a presure of 30psi I seem to keep mine at about 32 I like the bit harder ride of a firm tire plus with 30 the front tires seem to Bulge too much. Either way go down to 30 and see how it rides. Tell tale sign of over-inflation Rapid center wear compared to the rest of the tread. NSChevFan 07-10-2004, 10:12 PM Thanks Frank. I have them at 32PSI now, but I'll do as you suggest and try 30. I use to drive a 1992 Lumina, so it just may be that my reflexes need a bit of fine-tuning for the Cavalier. Its a very nice little car! Frank G 07-10-2004, 10:25 PM I use to drive a 1992 Lumina, so it just may be that my reflexes need a bit of fine-tuning for the Cavalier. That could be true as well all cars feel different, I have a 01 Jeep Grand Cherokee as well and drive Ford Crown Victoria at work (Yes I am a cop) and both vehicles are alot more stable than my lil Cavalier. Either way like you said its a nice little car that serves its purpose. Make sure you have decent tread on your tires as well, makes a world of difference in relation to control of a vehicle. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
