Need a 97 DX Hatch rpm guagewheel1856 07-09-2004, 03:32 PM Welp after monumental issues, and about $2500 worth of work and upgrades later, not counting the $500 for a replacement motor that civicHBsi91 hooked me up with, I still need stuff. I have a 1997 Civic DX hatch 5spd, without a tac. that's right, no tach. I think alot of my motor issues have stemmed from two things: 1. me driving like I stole it 2. No tac to see when to say when. I wanna get a tac in there. I imagine I could take the dash set out of another DX er something with a d16y7 and hook it right up, but there has got to be more wiring involved. So....anyone got a dash? anyone know/have the wire diagram to do it? Anyone ever done it? Difficult? thanks AF snowman2005 07-10-2004, 12:39 PM dont really get what ur trying to say by take the dash set out but if u mean taking a cluster wiht a tach out of another civic then yes its just plug in. kicker1_solo 07-10-2004, 03:14 PM I've got a 5" tach for sale, it's pretty cool. T-Racer 07-17-2004, 09:41 PM kicker have you gotten any of my emails man? wheel1856 07-18-2004, 12:35 PM kicker1...'preciate the, now expired, offer...but Im not looking for an aftermarket shift guage, just a simple oem dash cluster. you guys sure just poppin in an EX dash cluster will work? somehow I think the difference in O2 sensors, no v-tec, and a number of other differences would prohibit such a change. aren't there DX's, or CX's with a tac in the cluster? couldn't I find something like that? I would imagine that some sort of wire harness or change would be needed, I don't even have a dummy light on my dash, I would suspect there is nothing coming in that measures the rpm's. snowman2005 07-18-2004, 01:44 PM difference in O2 sensors, no v-tec doesnt matter the cluster are plug and play. make sure u get teh same gen cluter for ur car ~ls/vtec~ 07-24-2004, 02:15 AM make sure u get a 96-00 cluster. like mentioned already its plug and play. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
