AHHH, I have only had the truck a week and soo many probs. Now my truck shifts hard into first gear. Please help. 99 4x4 4.3liter engine. 115000 mi on it. WHat is wrong.

Something else i have no idea what is wrong is if im going at a steady speed and i floor it the rps stay steady where there at or it will go up to 3000 and drop back down. I do have oversized tires. Is that the problem?

Other probs i have now
Brakes click
engine runs hot
tps is off
Belt tensioner messing up

ok the shift problem is probably the (pulse width modulator torque converter control solenoid) pwm/tcc solenoid, simple and easy to change, drain trans fluid (drop pan . pump out, ..)may as well change trans filter also, will need 5 qts of tran fluid, the filter pulls down, may have to get pliers to get the o-ring seal out, ordered tcc pwm solenoid from bulkpart.com,,,,27.75 shipping included, located in dallas, tx, makco dist., the old one is cut at wire's to remove , new one is spliced to old wires and screws in, it is really that easy, first time i have dropped transmission pan ever and looked up there ,always thought things would come flying out of the tranny.i also changedd the kick down solenoid, 15.00 part , the 4l60e transmission has had probs with that also, but the tcc/pwm is your problem, instructions are good and clear as how to change,

your other problem could be a fuel pressure regulator, try some gm injector cleaner 22.00 a bottle, but works,

remove egr and clean use carb cleaner,

engine running hot,, probably dex cool problem, try flushing heater core, and see if that helps, i just changed my water pump, o yeah i have a 99 blazer 4x4 4.3 80k miles,

probably needs new serpentine belt,

i've changed brakes twice now, 1st time at 65k and used metalic, didn't like them at all, noisy and brake dust on wheels all the time , put ceramic on and am real happy with those,

i downloaded a lot of repair info from autozone,

well i think i've given you enough food for thought for one sitting

been happy with the blazer also, most of probs have just started to come on and at 80k miles ,, not bad , been a real reliable car, always garaged though. well thats my :2cents: and a half

What exactly is a 'hard shift'? revving real high before it shifts into the next gear? or loud/strong rythmic clunking that shakes the whole truck?

Cause I'm having that second description whenever I try to reverse...AND on highway going from 4th to 5th (guessing cause its automatic but it's when I hit 60mph and it tries to shift) when going that fast sounds/feels like going over those strips they put in roads that shake your car to make you slow down.

1st through 3rd/4th gears are fine as far as I can tell (other than late shifting or so it seems.. when A/C is on)

I know my TPS is of. It shifts hard from p to r or d. Also it just revs to like 2600 rpms jolts and then changes to 2nd. All other gears are smooth.
