I.c.e.caladespeedstur 07-07-2004, 10:48 PM A few days ago I picked up the new revell Escalade at my LHS after sitting there trying to think of something to do I decided to load it up with plenty of I.C.E. or In Car Electronics.I sm also going to make the head lights/tail lights function and make functional LED mirrors + other stuff. I'm still kind of lost on wether to lift or lower the car which I would like your opinion on as well as everything else. The tail light and head light in the pics are actually brighter but its hard to tell because of the camera. What do you think? http://pic13.picturetrail.com/VOL480/2309239/4588327/59259186.jpg http://pic13.picturetrail.com/VOL480/2309239/4588327/59259071.jpg Howielong 07-07-2004, 10:53 PM Lower it to the ground and and 26's. But they will raise the car back up. So just add the dubs yo. Camber 07-07-2004, 11:40 PM Working Air suspension on 26s should do the trick, in candy blue. speedstur 07-08-2004, 12:09 AM Thanks everyone I am begining to lean toward lowering but just to help with the desicion here are pics of lowered and lifted. http://pic13.picturetrail.com/VOL480/2309239/4588327/59267385.jpg http://pic13.picturetrail.com/VOL480/2309239/4588327/59267378.jpg SHIFT_drift 07-08-2004, 12:16 AM i think maybe lift it for something different... all the escalades that you see lately are all on 26's and slammed.. ive only seen a few lifted.... just my 2cents DJ_Merle 07-08-2004, 12:16 AM lowered!!!:D:D Jaymes 07-08-2004, 12:30 AM Paint it black, lift it, and deck it with ICE. SnakekanS 07-08-2004, 09:29 AM i would lower it also, i think they look nice like that. who cares if they are all dropped, build it the way you like to see it. im interested in that ICE system as im planning one for mine too, using some custom stuff. nervestrikes 07-08-2004, 09:32 AM I like your idea of lifting it even though I am more partial to slamming this baby, but go for the insane lift and paint it bright lime green. speedstur 07-08-2004, 10:02 AM Thanks everyone, I'm still torn between lifting and lowering, I do like dutchboy 618's idea but it might be hard to reain detail and I would want to lift it to be different hmmmmmm..... Anyway while I'm still undecided on it I will still continue with the project. bill_kustomz 07-08-2004, 11:08 AM body drop it :D StephenDeli 07-08-2004, 11:39 AM Drop it and make it into a Escalade Limo! 675datsun 07-08-2004, 12:00 PM Slam it! What's the largest scale bling bling wheel you can put under the wells? Does the kit come with large disc brakes that don't look dainty under wheels? Anyone seen the 26" wheels in real life yet? EMAXX 07-08-2004, 01:25 PM I say lift it. There are just too many that are lowered. bill_kustomz 07-08-2004, 02:17 PM bill_kustomz 07-08-2004, 02:18 PM uhh thats the only low escalade i've ever seen SnakekanS 07-08-2004, 02:30 PM damn, those rims must be taking a lot of place inside the body =| Macdaddy4738 07-08-2004, 03:31 PM pesonally id say keep it stock height. Maybe lower it just a bit to keep it stock height when you stick larger wheels on. ProSStreet 07-08-2004, 03:39 PM Lift doucmehu 07-08-2004, 03:46 PM lift it. But it looks damn cool! StephenDeli 07-09-2004, 12:48 AM body dropped on 26s :D http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v353/BillzKustomz/escalade26.jpg I cannot imagine how one can pull that thing out of a driveway without damaging the front bumper! BORA2000 07-09-2004, 12:54 AM I cannot imagine how one can pull that thing out of a driveway without damaging the front bumper! It could be done with air bags right? Skateforfood 07-09-2004, 01:14 AM It hast to, I think. One thing I notice is the hood opened a bit because of the wheel hitting it.So it must have airbags. SchuberT 07-09-2004, 01:21 AM you sure that's the reason? that's at a car show, so i'm sure they're displaying the engine Skateforfood 07-09-2004, 03:02 AM Im not that certain but how could big huge 26s plus tires not hit the hood? SchuberT 07-09-2004, 03:21 AM i dunno, but just imagine from the bottom of the tire to the middle of the wheel, and then imagine that same distance from the middle of the wheel to the top. a photoshop: http://nwwo.com/chop/meh123.gif besides, it'd be kinda dangerous to have your tires hit your hood when the airbags are down, and you'd have to pop the hood when you want to park it? anyway sorry for the thread hijack, just a friendly discussion on fitting 26's under an escalade youngdrifter_x 07-09-2004, 03:41 AM I would also lower it. The monitors "Beds" are looking pretty cool. Are you going to make little monitor tv or just put in a piece of styrene and paint it? Wouldnt it be cool if you made the little tvs and could be moved. like different angles and stuff. That would be awesome! Overall it looks good man. keep it up Jurva 07-09-2004, 03:46 AM LIFT with ice and chrome bumpers. Macdaddy4738 07-09-2004, 08:05 AM those tires wont hit the hood..theres no way. Im sure its on airbags...i mean how would you even get over a speed bump...much less a rock or pebble in the road. JTRACING 07-09-2004, 08:13 AM they slam the cars down when there parked, just for show, i've seen trucks and cars so low they sit on the frame, and the wheels come up off the ground Great looking model so far !! i would raise it up on some huge mudd tires! you dont see that everyday on a caddy white97ex 07-09-2004, 11:17 AM if you look at that picture. more than half of the wheel is showing in the wheel arch. just by eyeballing the photo. there is plenty of room in the fender to fit the remaining part of the wheel and tire without it hitting the hood. SupaMan89T 07-09-2004, 12:13 PM i dunno, but just imagine from the bottom of the tire to the middle of the wheel, and then imagine that same distance from the middle of the wheel to the top. a photoshop: http://nwwo.com/chop/meh123.gif besides, it'd be kinda dangerous to have your tires hit your hood when the airbags are down, and you'd have to pop the hood when you want to park it? anyway sorry for the thread hijack, just a friendly discussion on fitting 26's under an escalade sorry but thats not a photo shop that is tuckin 24's on airbags $54,000 worth of truck and money put into it :iceslolan and they dont hit the hood it clears it by like an inch :iceslolan dutchboy 618 07-09-2004, 12:37 PM If your gonna lift it, wat rims/ tires are you using?? Off road tires and rims don't look good but 24" and 26" would look sweet so either lower or lift it but use bling bling rims bill_kustomz 07-09-2004, 03:00 PM barry u dumbass their 26s and yes its stock floor body dropped..which meens it also has bags now anyone else wanna see a hummer h2 on 26s on the ground :D bill_kustomz 07-09-2004, 03:11 PM bill_kustomz 07-09-2004, 03:12 PM Lownslow 07-09-2004, 04:25 PM wheres the engine looks like its got a 6 banger in there. BTW those are 26 believe me that truck rides like total crap even on bags. 26 inch wheels offer the shitiest of all rides, 20s offer the best CamaroSSBoy346 07-09-2004, 06:13 PM were still debating on weather or not to lift it or lower it? I say lift it. (BTW is this the kind where the chassis and supension is all molded as one piece? If its all molded sepeartly, you can use my "Silverado Lift" technique. speedstur 07-09-2004, 06:55 PM Yup its molded sepratley and if I lift it I'm definatley going to follow your totorial. SchuberT 07-09-2004, 07:21 PM sorry but thats not a photo shop that is tuckin 24's on airbags $54,000 worth of truck and money put into it :iceslolan and they dont hit the hood it clears it by like an inch :iceslolan i mustve been understood, i mean the escalade was a photoshop, i meant that i made a photoshop to show about where the top of the tire was speedstur 07-09-2004, 10:34 PM Today I started on the Xbox but I still need to make the controlers for it. I also took some quick mach up pics in which you can see the Xbox doesn't quite fit with the subs but Im gonna rework them my way. what do you think? http://pic13.picturetrail.com/VOL480/2309239/4588327/59476385.jpg http://pic13.picturetrail.com/VOL480/2309239/4588327/59476467.jpg http://pic13.picturetrail.com/VOL480/2309239/4588327/59476503.jpg SonyMobile 07-09-2004, 11:33 PM X-Box looks sweet! kit looks awesome, did you cut the roof off? or is that how it comes? I say leave it at stock(ish) height, A luxury SUV does not belong in the mud, and I personally find Caddarded sities look sittin on 44's. speedstur 07-09-2004, 11:42 PM Thats just how they make the interior the top is still on. WeaPoN [X] 07-10-2004, 06:19 AM good job on the X-Box. Cant wait to see the finished product. JeFF AstroRide44 07-10-2004, 09:10 AM does that sub rack come with the kit? what else does the kit come with? its a 2n'1 right? speedstur 07-10-2004, 09:52 AM Thanks guys. The sub rack does come with the kit along with amps, pre tinted windows, 2 rim choices, 2 grills, and euro tail lights. SupaMan89T 07-10-2004, 10:44 AM i mustve been understood, i mean the escalade was a photoshop, i meant that i made a photoshop to show about where the top of the tire was opps sorry dude :iceslolan AstroRide44 07-10-2004, 05:37 PM can we see pics of both sets of wheels and both grills? dutchboy 618 07-10-2004, 08:20 PM nice x box man!!! ;) Skateforfood 07-10-2004, 08:49 PM I am also building this kit, im also sorry for Hijacking your thread. I got a little work done on the I.C.E. in the back. I cut down the sub box that came with the kit allready. To the left and the right of the Xbox I am going to put T.V.s facing towards the back. In the other pics you can see that the amps look kind of out of place, and they are because I plan on countersinking them int the floor with a plexiglass cover. what does everyone think? http://pic13.picturetrail.com/VOL480/2309239/4588327/59828950.jpg http://pic13.picturetrail.com/VOL480/2309239/4588327/59828955.jpg http://pic13.picturetrail.com/VOL480/2309239/4588327/59828945.jpg AstroRide44 07-13-2004, 07:18 AM what happed with the pics for the choices for rims and grills? speedstur 07-13-2004, 10:57 AM Sorry I'll get those pics soon, I also just lost my hosting again so here are the pics from the last post http://www.photodump.com/direct/speedstur/subbox1265.jpg http://www.photodump.com/direct/speedstur/subbox2419.jpg the rest of the pics can be found here http://www.rocketrob.com/wipicecalade.htm turbo type-r 07-13-2004, 11:00 AM sweet enclosures i love tha kickers StephenDeli 07-13-2004, 11:53 AM Looking good speedstur 07-15-2004, 12:28 AM Thanks alot everyone your comments really keep me going, I had an idea to put those cool grill things on the speakers so I got to work and this is what I came up with, not sure if I like them, but they will look better when its all painted. http://www.photodump.com/direct/speedstur/subbox4.jpg http://www.photodump.com/direct/speedstur/subbox5.jpg http://www.photodump.com/direct/speedstur/subbox6.jpg And here are the pics of the rims and grills as requested http://www.photodump.com/direct/speedstur/choices869.jpg http://www.photodump.com/direct/speedstur/choices2955.jpg StephenDeli 07-15-2004, 12:43 AM I like the grill thingys SchuberT 07-15-2004, 02:04 AM they'd be better if the chromation (is that a word?) wasn't so bad... still a great build DiGiTaLEcLiPsE 07-15-2004, 02:22 AM How'd you make the grill thingys? Here is a little preview of whats to come 100% scratch built sub backs (not sure if proper term) they are still a little rough but as soon as I get it unstuck from my finger I'll finish them up lol http://www.photodump.com/direct/speedstur/subbox7.jpg http://www.photodump.com/direct/speedstur/subbox8.jpg SnakekanS 07-20-2004, 07:00 AM looking good dude !! the sound system is going to be real nice speedstur 07-27-2004, 10:52 PM Thanks guys I wrote a toturial for the xbox because I have gotten I lot of requests on how I built it, you can check it out here: http://www.rocketrob.com/toturialsxbox.htm alex_37 07-28-2004, 03:34 AM is there any tutorial how to make a custom sound system w/out buying one ready made Jetts 07-28-2004, 03:44 AM k sorry to hijack but the escalade is not a photoshop its real, they also built a hummer that lays body on 26's both the escalade and the hummer go from the trailor to the spot in the show and back into the trailor. thats about the extent to the driving done on them they were built by extensive metal works TexasF355F1 07-29-2004, 08:53 PM k sorry to hijack but the escalade is not a photoshop its real, they also built a hummer that lays body on 26's both the escalade and the hummer go from the trailor to the spot in the show and back into the trailor. thats about the extent to the driving done on them they were built by extensive metal works Sorry but I have to correct you. They do get driven. Ekstensive Metalwerks is based out of Houston. They do drive all the rides they build. I've seen them on multiple occasions on I-45 and stopping at Hooters. The H2 is owned by Ken Caminetti, former Astros and Padres 3rd baseman. The frame is from a suburban, not exactly sure as to the details on the Escalade. Saw both the Escalade and H2 at Texas Heatwave last weekend. The Escalade looks almost complete but not completely. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
