If anyone is experiencing idle and stalling problems with their GM truck, stop right here! I have the solution. Problem statement: Idle is unstable, often surging between 600 and 300 RPM, especially when warm or hot, and stalling occasionally like when pulling into parking spaces. In addition, turning the air conditioning on and off will consistently cause then unstable condition. Solution: Clean your throttle body with carb/throttle body cleaner. Do this by loosing the clamp and removing the plastic air duct work near the top front center of the engine. Carefully move the duct to the side. Clean the metal body and rotating plate the plastic connects to while holding the plate open. Do not damage or nick the plate. You will be thinking there is no way this could be so easy...oh so wrong! This simple procedure will do wonders for the idle and will save you mucho $$$ at the dealer. It solved my headache...good luck.
