Dealer lost my key...Any Advice?kohokoho 07-07-2004, 09:24 PM I went to pick up my 96 sentra today from the dealer after a repair. The guy handed me back a key that he said had to be made because they lost the original key that I had handed them when I dropped off the car. I was so mad at them but couldn't do anything but accept that new key. My car is still under warranty (I bought it last month). I know there probably isn't much that can be done...but the guy acted like it's no big deal. Is there anything I can do/could have to pressure them to get me the original key ? WissNX01 07-08-2004, 06:18 PM What kind of replacement key did you get? Is it a black one that originally comes with the car, or a cheap metal blank? If I were you, complain to the service manager first. Get free oil changes for a year or whatever, and an OEM key. If that doesnt work, theres a number to call Nissan directly and complain. I promise, if you called Nissan Headquarters, you would get compensated. kohokoho 07-08-2004, 08:51 PM It is the cheap metal blank that they made after losing the original black one. I bought the car used and it has a 60 day warranty..do you think calling Nissan heaquarters would still help? I thought it only works for Brand new cars.. Also, the problem that they fixed (brake knocking) seems to have appeared again ..just after a day of driving after they fixed..! Not buying another car from them obviously.. 25lewrek 07-09-2004, 10:22 AM raise hell! You're in the right here, and they will eventually see things your way if you just don't give up. Just act now, the more time you waste the less credible you appear. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
