I have a 1998 Taurus SE with the duratec. I was wondering if anyone here has had luck finding a exhaust manufacter that makes a kit for the car. if not, how much did it cost to get your exhaust work done. any ideas on the best mufflers to use? thanks.

there is no commercially available cat-back for the gen 3/4 taurus.

having a '98 Duratec, you should have factory duals.

I have Flowtech mufflers attached to my factory dual piping.

if you have a Taurus that has the 24 valve you will have factory "Dual Exhaust" but it is actually a Y pipe at the rear of the car, and it apperently adds an extra 15 hp due to the fact that the mufflers are after the split, this is evidenced to the fact that some of the 24V Taurus' weren't rated at the full 200hp, as for a dual exhaust I know that one was made for the sho, but I doubt that it is compatible with the V6, I on the other hand called my friend and I'm getting him to weld on a true dual exhaust from the manifolds back, all you need to do is have a friend with a welder and then go to an exhaust shop and get a legnth of pipe that is the diamiter that you want then get the bends that you need, and fit it together like a puzzle under the car.
