merkur xr4ti vs 95 nissan 240sxyoungvr4 07-07-2004, 04:53 PM all around performance, looks and modablility. go at it :evillol: dbebesi 07-07-2004, 06:49 PM i would have to say 240sx, but those murker's were bad mother f*&^ers. the murker i would bet is faster stock (i'm too lazy too look it up right now). but moddabilty, and looks go to the 240sx. uniqueness-altough both unique, xr4ti whoops up in that catagory. Layla's Keeper 07-07-2004, 06:53 PM Well, the Merkur has a STOUT engine. Those Ford 2.3L SOHC fours fun forever with a turbo and have been known to be built up to and beyond 500 streetable horses. Just check out shops like Esslinger for proof. The Merkur chassis is also a touring car/rally champion with a big following in Europe (as the Ford Sierra). Just be sure you find one with a manual trans, because the slushbox Merkurs were slouches. VQuick 07-07-2004, 08:14 PM Well, the Merkur has a STOUT engine. A big 'amen' to that. It was good enough to be the base of a Ford Cosworth, so it's plenty capable. :iceslolan genjy 07-07-2004, 09:00 PM The XR4ti, the Mustang SVO, and the T-Bird Turbocoupe share basically the same powertrain, except the XR4ti doesn't come with an intercooler. You can find a lot of performance parts for the XR4ti if you know where to look on the internet... you can also use many performance parts for the Stang SVO. The XR4ti's interior design and comfort are -EXCELLENT-. With leather, its interior rivals BMW interiors of its time. The XR4ti is a better car overall than the 240SX in stock form... whatever fits your goals and needs, though. youngvr4 07-08-2004, 12:42 AM i read that the xr4ti can handle over 500hp on the stock block. yeah i like those cars there pretty quick. especially for its time Jimster 07-08-2004, 01:20 AM I'd have the Merkur. I'm guessing it's closer to an XR4i Sierra, than a Cossie... szczecinek 07-09-2004, 02:48 AM hey guess what im gonna say 240sx.... ok i call it the 180sx or 200sx, but thats because we got the CA18det and SR20det... better suited 2 the 240 if u ask me, but i guess them KA24s make good use of the 20% more capacity.... strengthened and turboed ka24 would be pretty quick 240 with its low weight... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
