my Paint it weird...well

i was painting my Car and when it dries up it has lyke small teeny tiny wholes on the sides mostly...what should i do?

also paint is called auto paint...lol 98 cents..

please help

Hi, I have never done any diecast models before but Im sure the paint process and problems are similiar to painting plastic models. Can you give a bit more info please. Did you clean the model? Did u primer the model? What primer did you use? What were the painting conditions like? when you say tiny holes do u mean like orange peel or is it that you can see the surface under the paint?

My guess is its the later, and I have had a similiar problem with a Tamyia Jagermeister Alfa Romeo. Simply I put too much paint on and it bubbled up and because of the lacquer base of the paint it ate trhough to the primer.

If you could answer the questions it might help me give you a solution.

You answered your own question. Its shit paint...go out, get the Tamiya stuff. So what, its $4-$5 more, you will have better looking paint. Never go cheap, go top of the line.

Mike knows his stuff but also try real autopaint. It'll cost about the same as the tamiya paint, but you can get the real colors that come on a car.

Also those holes usually result from there being something under the paint that has a bad reaction with the paint. Try laying down some primer first or sanding off the base layer before you paint.

Be careful with real autopaint. Its a tricky process to be done right. Also you usually need an airbrush or paint gun to spray. They also need to be reduced correctly and have the proper surface to adhere to.

But if youre just going to grab some stuff from Wally-World its not as complicated.

Anyway, I know my paint stuff.
