My legend gets this shudding shaking vibration that only happens when I have the gas pedel pushed. I notice it a lot more when I am going up a hill and/or with people in the car. It only does it when it's under a load. I also noticed that it stops if I gradually turn left, and does it worse if I turn right. Also, the problem used to only happen when I would drive at speeds higher then 85 for a couple hours, like only on road trips would it surface. Now it's getting worse and happens at all speeds as soon as I start driving. Any suggestions to this problem? I was thinking cv joint since it seems to be coming from the passenger front. 140, 000 mi.

did you check your alignment?

No I didn't check my alignment yet. I thought it would be more major then that. It did start pulling to the right not bad but it seems to have gotten worse. It shakes really bad, do you think an alignment could cause that?

Ya, that's what I thought about the cv joints too... I just can't figure it out, should I check the tranny mount? I see a lot of people checking them. Or get the tranny flushed? It use to make a sound when It would shift into second sometimes, kind of a clunk. Thanks for the input!

if its your tranny mount, you will have a hard shifting and a clunk(between 1 and 2) and when you put in gear also.

It definatley shifts hard, like a lot of legends. I use to really hear a clunk between 1st and 2nd so I'll check that tranny out tonight or tomorrow. I drove 1 1/2 hours yesterday and it started shaking at first when I was doing 90 mph for at least 1/2 hour. I slowed down to 70 75 for the rest of the way and was real gentle on the gas and it stopped.... Maybe that high speed made more torgue on tranny mount, worth checking out.

can you explain 'shaking' in details?

It only happens when pushing on the accelerator, or thats the only time I notice it. At high speeds it feels like it's shuddering, passangers have commented that it was coming from there side. It almost feels like the engine is cutting out and coming back really quickly, three times a second at 90 mph. For a few day's it shuddered at low speeds also, from a dead stop on. It definitly gets faster with an increase in speed. That makes me think it's not the engine. It's very rythmic too, at slow speeds: dunt...dunt...dunt...dunt...; at high speeds: dunt.dunt.dunt.dunt. ha-ha-ha I don't know how to explain it very well, it's weird. You can really feel it in the steering wheel.

I have the exact same problem on a '94 legend. Your description is an exact description of the proplem I am trying to solve.
Did you find a solution?

I had the same problem on my 92 legend. Mine turned out to be a broken motor mount, replaced it and all is well now.

Thanks for the info. How did you find that the engine mount was broken, was it visible by just looking at it or did you have to jack up the engine, or what?
