2001 Toyota Corolla is sucking down CoolantDrumee85 07-06-2004, 01:16 AM Hey everyone, My 2001 Rolla is going thru massive amounts of Coolant. If I fill it up on monday I need to add more by friday. I don't see any fluid on the ground. Any ideas??? Thanks!, Bryan WissNX01 07-06-2004, 02:26 AM YOu need to have it pressure tested. It could be a few things. You have a crack in a water jacket, and your leaking coolant into the block, which is really bad. Second is, it could be stuck in a bubble in a hose. It could also be evaporating out of a bad radiator cap or resevoir valve. YOu have any more details? Drumee85 07-06-2004, 02:32 AM Well my check engine light came on and i had Auto Zone run it and it came back w/ some emmision recycling problems. I don't think that's related. When I got the car last week I parked it in the driveway and smelled coolant burning, when I opened the hood I noticed that the coolant was bone dry. I filled it once and it's almost gone. Thanks for your reply, that's all I know WissNX01 07-06-2004, 06:23 PM I would honestly go with it leaking into the block. if you change your oil, you will see water in it. thats most likely. ishop4less 07-06-2004, 10:01 PM have your car been overheat before? check your oil, if the color like chocolate thick that means you have water in the block which is not a good sign. Continue to drive the car will be ruin the bottom part of the engine if there are water in the block WissNX01 07-07-2004, 11:43 AM I thought for sure i said that vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
