Sister's 98 Taurus won't start. I've checked the fuel cutoff switch in trunk and the fuse in the distibution block. Checked fuel pressure throught the service port on fuel rail and it barely drips any fuel out with no pressure at all. I purchased a new fuel filter and will try that first. Also bought the new fuel pump so I would have it on hand while I'm enjoying myself on the Fifth of July..yippee...lol. Can anyone offer any pointers in dropping the fuel tank and am I headed in the right direction?
I plan on buying some ramps to support back of car while I use the floor jack to lower the tank. BTW, I purchase the 4 clip kit to be able to disconnect the fuel line. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. I haven't pulled a gas tank out in years. Wish me luck

When you have the straps disconnected lower the tank part way and reach over to disconnect the hoses, then carefully lower the tank to the ground. Clean all around the area of the pump so that no crud drops into the tank when you pull the old unit out. I hope the tank isnt full as that can be heavy.
