Lexus LS430, Mercedes E500 or Chrysler 300Cjsmoov24 07-04-2004, 12:33 PM hey everyone, i'm baaacckk... back in March I asked your opinion on what car I should buy within the next few months, E500 or 2005 Jag S-type. well since then I have test drove the Jag and I was not that impressed. The E500 is great but then there came the new 2005 Chrysler 300C with the Hemi engine. That car is great as well. I'm sooooo confused so I'm going to need your help to help me figure out which I should buy. I'm into modifying so I'm looking to get a base E500 (just sunroof and wood grain steering wheel), LS430 with just Premium package (no Navigation or Mark Levinson)and the 300C with just sunroof and wood grain steering wheel. i'm into body kits and custom stereo systems, 1.) full Lorinser kit for E500 (awesome look), 2.)LS430 - Junction Produce body kit with Wald fenders (gives an additional elegant plus sporty look) and 3.) 300C - rear wing lip spoiler and Bentley style chrome mesh grill (can't afford Bentley so great look a like). I need your guys help!!!! Jimster 07-05-2004, 01:59 AM I'd take the E class- would definitely have the best resale. It's probably the same car as the 300C though. Don't bother with the LS430, they are best left to middle aged merchant bankers. crayzayjay 07-05-2004, 04:36 AM LS 430 is a dentist's car. 300C is based on previous gen E class. Conclusion: E500. Z_Fanatic 07-05-2004, 05:22 AM mercedes-benz has always been classy cars, especially the ones with high price tags. and they're renowned all over the world. if you go any part of the world and ask if they ever saw a lexus, chrysler, or mercedes? chances are they'll be baffled by the first two brands, but definitely recall the Benz that they saw some rich ambassador driven in, with the big triangular logo on the bonnet. jsmoov24 07-05-2004, 08:56 AM this would be my first benz too. i had a 1997 gs300 right before they changed to the current body design. and the 300c is getting so much hype, no they are saying that between the end of this year early next year Chrysler is coming out with the SRT-8 version of the 300c, close to 450HP and the car will cost around $45k. it's a nice car but for that I would step up and get the Benz or Lexus. take a look at this link: http://www.cecwheels.com/gallery/gallery_item.cfm?id=376 is she so sweet?? ssooo sweet crayzayjay 07-05-2004, 09:14 AM Chrome alloys are way too tacky for my liking, thanks. kman10587 07-05-2004, 10:54 PM I vote for Lexus LS 430, can't beat Toyota reliability. DinanM3_S2 07-05-2004, 11:27 PM Lexus is still boring. If your old or want a car to drive a family around in this is great, but through your desire to tune, I dont think your either of these. The Merc has a pretty nice aftermarket, not huge like Honda, but enough to find some nice upgrades. (I like Brabus) Definitly the best styled IMO. Faster then the others too. The new 300 doesnt have an aftermarket that I know of yet, too new. Not gunna be as fast as the Merc or as nice as the Lexus, but it costs a hell of a lot less. cypewon 03-05-2009, 11:43 AM I just copped an 05 ls430. I Was looking at the e55, bmw 550, Challenger R/T, 07 Tahoe, xlR-v, and the 07 xk convert/ or R. The e55 resale, or any of the other cars will not be worth anything once another generation comes out. Toyota reliability and lexus luxury trumps all others. Not to mention the price. the bimmer, caddy and jag are all Twice as much with any decent mileage ( under 50 ) Even the dodge is TWICE AS MUCH, and can you imagaine the resale on that?? ugggg. The Tahoe is almost as nice, and the onstar is a big plus but i live in NY, and have always condemmed the arrogance of Single occupant SUV's. So the lex is the way to go. I am into tuning also and the are no shortage of performance Toyota parts, and if you're like me theres always the thrill of the hunt. And noone customizes these cars, so it will be one unique ride! For now: Charcoal exterior, black inside, Heated seats, nav, Mark Levinson, and all that wood. You will not get out of this car without feeling totally relaxed with a big smile on your face. the power setting, and the auto-stick really throw you back in your seat. Although I do feel a little silly shifting such a big car. the response is lightning compared to the autostick on my moms 01 c class. P.S.: I've had nothing but classic chevys b4 this car, and I'm sorry to say I don't miss them anymore. Kameha 03-06-2009, 12:28 AM ^^^^ You responded to a post 5 years old???
