f 250 won't run on rear fuel tank

my 1989 f250 will not switch to the rear fuel tank. HELP.
is thier a pump in the tank?

Yes, there are THREE fuel pumps in the '89s as I recall. A "pickup" pump in each tank, and main pressure pump on the frame rail under the driver's seat.

Most likely either the rear pump quit, or the selector swithch is bad. Before you pull the pump, make sure you get power to it. If so, then the pump died.

To my knowledge on most fords with dual tanks there are 3 pumps like modmech said your switch is hood to to high pressue pump under the cab. Modmech said the same thing I would've said.
